Fountain at Night

This was an experiment in night photography without a tripod. This was shot with no flash, by hand. I’m actually quite impressed by the image stabilization feature of the kit lens on my camera, it allowed me to have the shutter open long enough to blur the water, as well as keeping the lower part of the fountain itself in focus.

Queen Mary at Sunset

The sunset is actually far to the right of this picture, but the sky is going through it’s funky coloring.

I really like the pinkish sky offsetting the ship.

Palm and Reflections

Walking around, I caught the reflection of the palms in the windows, and had to take a shot. I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out.

Bratty Kitty

Here is the inspiration for my other site Brattykitty.com – I’m probably going to be changing the focus of it again since I’m terribly bored with that one – but that’s not what’s important on this site.

I finally got her to sit still long enough to get a nice, detailed shot of her, so here it is. I’ve already got one shot of Meadow up here, might as well get the Rascal one up too.

Here she is, in her kitty cup, on my desk… wondering what the hell I’m doing with the camera.

Sunset

Sunset photo taken from the top of the parking structure at work. This is the one good side effect of pollution, the colors of the sunsets out here tend to be pretty amazing.

Sunset Over Culver City

I finally managed to get some decent photos of the sunset from work. I’ll be shooting more of these once I have access to a tripod because the higher ISO speeds needed to be able to shoot in this light caused the shutter speed to be dangerously close to being too long to hold without one.

In any case, I’m pretty happy with the results so far.

None of the settings of this photo were manipulated in any way, this is what the sunset looks like through the pollution out here in southern California.

Breakfast of Champions

I need to get home earlier when there’s still some light out – or I need to get a tripod and have the ability to have the camera stable for longer shutter speeds…

Today’s little experiment with items around the apartment – ibuprofin… Breakfast of champions. I’ve seen similar shots in the past and wanted to try my hand at creating one of my own.
