So, here I am going through the photos I’ve taken with my new camera and I’ve noticed an odd trend in several of them… they tend to be angled down to the left. No matter what the shot is, the left side of the horizon seems to be dipping down below the actual horizon, and it’s really messing things up.
I spent a good amount of time frustrated and wondering what the hell I was doing, could something be wrong the the camera?
Then it hit me. I learned what should have been a very basic thing, I was pushing the shutter button a bit too hard, and in my haste to look at...

Ok, so I mentioned in the first post (and the about page) that I’ve finally got my first dSLR camera, and that’s the inspiration for this site. So far, since I’ve actually started using it, I really love it. I love the way the camera feels in my hands, its response time, the degree of control I have over everything (even though I’m barely exposing myself to the more manual modes as of right now), the quality of the pictures, pretty much everything up until now. But it wasn’t like that when I opened it.
First thing I did when I opened the camera was charge up...

I figure this is the best place to start, with a welcome.
If you’ve seen my about page, you already know what this site is going to be about. If not, go read it… or you can probably just guess based on what’s written here.
I’ve started this blog in an attempt to track my progress as I learn how to be a real photographer, not just some guy who takes random pictures. Photography has been an interest of mine for some time, and now I feel it’s time to step up my game and learn how to do it for real.
